Job Description

Position: Backend Engineer

Location: San Diego, CA

Duration: 12-month contract

Requirements:

• Expert experience in full stack development with emphasis in Python/Django (minimum)
• Python
• Django
• Javascript
• React
• AWS (lambda, RDS, cloudwatch, sds, sns, ses, kinesis, dynamodb, cloudcache, terraform)
• 6+ years’ experience in software development
• 1+ years’ experience in retail
• 3+ years’ experience in AWS
• 4+ years’ experience in Python/Django or react
• BS in computer Science or equivalent additional experience (masters preferred)
• Experience developing and maintaining high-volume, high-transaction systems
• Experienced with test-driven development, source control, management, and CI/CD
• Experienced in enterprise integration (no standalone systems)
• Fast-paced development environment with daily deploys
• Track record of delivering stable, quality code measured by reported QA defects
• Production issues (inclusive of Service Now tickets and Priority 1&2 issues) attributable to individual’s code
• General understanding of product/business processes
• Asks clarifying questions to ensure deliverable meets business requirements
• Expert knowledge of SDLC and development processes including agile (scrum and Kanban) and tools utilized to organize/track work (Jira)
• Experience in support tools, including Service Now
• Good written/verbal English skills
• Requires minimal instruction
• Works independently and is seen as a resource for others on the team
• Participates in on-call rotations
