Job Description: Senior Engineer – Systems
This position will be responsible for planning and executing tests for the existing and future Addressable CI platform and ensuring that quality standards are maintained. This position will have responsibility for maintaining the test environments, troubleshooting problems and working closely with the Business, Development, and Operational teams as needed. Our client’s Technologies is a 24/7/365 operation and this job may occasionally require working non-business hours.
Primary responsibilities fall into the following categories:
• Design test campaigns to properly verify functionality and ensure functional and operational needs are met.
• Test execution, documentation and reporting for the Addressable CI Platform
• Develop a technical & operational understanding of the platform
• System administration activities for standing up/configuring equipment
• Meet deadlines and complete assignments in a timely manner while maintaining quality standards.
A successful Senior Engineer – Systems will have the following:
• BS in a related field; and 6 or more years related experience; or an MS with 4 or more years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
• 3 or more years’ experience designing and executing test campaigns supporting both business features as well as performance and operational requirements for complex software and hardware solutions.
• 3 or more years’ experience supporting standard test environment hardware (Windows Server, RedHat Linux, SAN Storage, Isilon Storage, basic networking and system administration) and writing and running basic scripts using one or more of common scripting tools/languages including SQL/Perl/Python/Bash.
• Willing and able to work any shift assigned as dictated by the needs of the business
• Must be able to travel (10-25%) from Denver to Cheyenne as needed
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience with Video Compression, MPEG and Satellite Broadcasting.
• Experience with FreeWheel and Folium
• Experience with Testing Automation tools and technologies
