Site Reliability Engineering Architect

Length: 6 month contract to hire
Salary: 170K
Summary:
The Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) Architect is responsible for setting the vision for our SRE organization. Their cloud architecture expertise coupled with business knowledge will enable them to make strategic decisions that will further our scalability, reliability, and durability. They will continuously improve our technology stack and standardize it across teams, providing a consistent workflow for development teams to interface with SRE.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Engage in and improve the whole life cycle of services—from inception and design, through deployment, operation, and refinement.
- Ensure software deployment pipelines fit organizational needs and workflow, utilizing automation to reduce operational overhead and increase quality of our products
- Work with quality engineering teams to build tools and testing strategies for problem prevention, detection, and chaos testing
- Develop innovative tooling to solve common problems
- Identify observability gaps and establish SLIs and SLOs for services being designed
- Assist in capacity planning and cost optimization
- Capable of working with multiple stakeholders on different levels, from C-level executives to developers
- Skills in documenting architecture and deliverables in a collaborative and clear manner, keeping them up to date as changes are made
- Evangelize SRE and DevOps through workshops and training sessions
- Able to lead Proof-of-Concept activities.
Requirements:
Education: Four (4) year degree or equivalent experience
Experience: 7-12 years
Skills: High Proficiency in (several): Network design, Kubernetes, IaC, Configuration Management, Scripting, Observability, Service Mesh, SRE Principles
Certifications: GCP, AWS, or Azure Cloud Architect
